As a reminder, before you open a gate to get to a range, or go onto any range, you must contact Range Control and request to "occupy" the area. Range control, when you call them, reviews the status of the other 32+ ranges to ensure there are no surface danger zone conflicts (or other restrictions) on the range you wish to occupy. If there are no conflicts, Range Control will reply with an occupy time that you place on your range sheet. Similarly, when you are closing the range, only call in that you have "departed" once you physically leave the range and / or lock the gate. Do not call in departed if you are still on the range completing paperwork, moving targets, etc.
