Target Information

The QSC requires you bring your own targets and stands. A question often received is a recommendation or how to build or buy a stand. We've included some suggestions or you can Google "PVC target stands," make a target stand," etc., to find other results. You can also buy stands that hold 1x2's, adjust to the width of you targets and breakdown easily such as some that follow. NOTE: In all cases, fired rounds must remain in impact area. Therefore, DO NOT make your stand too tall. It's best to keep any stand no taller than 48 inches. If your stand is taller, please place targets at the bottom of the frame so rounds will impact the ground around your target. This also applies to steel placed on Range 4, keep the stand short enough so rounds impact within the range area.

QSC ranges are subject to winds.  Please do not assume that sand bags or other target stand support materials are available. We recommended you bring materials to hold or stake down light-weight target stands.

This small "H" stand from Amazon is very popular. It's stable and allows you to use 1x2 strips and a cardboard backer to make the frame. It's easily transportable and sets up and takes down quickly.

This is a variation on the same concept, but a stand that breaks down even smaller, and this is another type of breakdown stand that may be preferred.

You could buy a For Rent or For Sale sign from Home Depot or Lowes that also works well. Just as good are the ubiquitous political signs that become useless after each election cycle. Remember, no political likenesses or pictures that could be offensive to members are allowed.

Lastly, this is a PVC stand you can make yourself. While it's more cumbersome and may take longer to place and remove, some will prefer this style. Just remember, you have to cart it in and off the range in the time alloted between sessions.

If you shoot steel, for example at long range on Range 4 where you'd prefer immediate visual and audio feedback, then you should consider 3/8ths, AR500 steel targets and a stand to hold them. Make it as simple as possible as you have to carry it up the berm and down, and quickly so as to not delay the firing line. A popular selection is 2/3rds IPSC target and a steel target stand like this one, or one that uses 2x4s, or some variation. Here's a complete kit, this is a hanger you can place on a 2x4 in a larger H stand.

The QSC does not endorse any stand over another and those included are representative of the many types you can select to meet your needs.
