Become an RSO

February 2024 - A Note from the QSC President.

We need your help!

The QSC is a volunteer organization. The hours donated by members to run ranges help keep dues and fees low while allowing for much needed infrastructure improvements and investments in ranges and operations.

Our RSOs are the lifeblood of the club and we can only open ranges with the help of our member volunteers. I want to personally encourage you to become an RSO and give back to the community by opening and running ranges. Not only will you learn valuable safety protocols, but you will join and active cadre of members dedicated to keeping the QSC open and operating.

We reward our RSOs with a free annual membership when they open 6 ranges over the course of their membership year, with at least 1 being REC FIRE on Ranges 1, Ironman or Shotgun.

Becoming an RSO

The QSC conducts live-fire events on the Calvin A. Lloyd range complex on MCBQ. Military requirements for live-fire are stringent and mandate at least two MCBQ certified Range Safety Officers for any live-fire event, and three RSOs if ANY of the QSC RSOs will be shooting during the day.

QSC encourages members obtain an RSO certification as the success of the club is largely due to our volunteer RSOs. Without their continued support, we would not be able to open ranges so members could shoot. We urge you to seriously consider becoming an RSO and give back to the club so we can continue our tradition of service to our MCBQ community.

Note: MCBQ does not accept non-military RSO certifications, such as the NRA, etc., you must complete the MCBQ RSO process. MCBQ does allow military qualifications to transfer to QSC through Range Control.
