The Quantico Shooting Club (QSC) been active on Marine Corps Base Quantico (MCBQ) for over 75 years. We can only stay open due to the generosity of our many helpers. Strongly consider becoming a volunteer to give back to the shooting community and help keep QSC running for the next 75 years. Check our emails, News Page and announcements on the Forums for upcoming opportunities. Contact us at staff-mailbox@quanticoshootingclub.com to help make QSC even better!
- You can donate as many hours as your schedule allows
- Even a few hours in a work party or cutting grass makes a positive difference
- Be a long-term volunteer by overseeing director level needs
- Become a Range Safety Officer (RSO) so we can open as many ranges as possible
QSC, as a "non-federal entity" operating aboard MCBQ, receives no assistance and pays for all services to support our operations, Neither the Navy nor the Marines have the monies to invest in their infrastructure, let alone a non-federal entity's needs. As a small example of QSC "must pays":
- It costs roughly $77,000 a year to just open the club's doors
- We lease the clubhouse and grounds from the Dept of the Navy
- QSC maintains liability insurance for over 1,300 members participating in a high-risk activity
- We employ a paid EMT to meet MCBQ safety protocols every time we open a range
- We pay office administrators to manage member relations
- We pay for internet, phone, porta-john, IT, pest control, office and range supplies, maintenance, etc., etc.
- The QSC Board of Directors (BOD) are all volunteers, as are all our Range Safety Officers
- The daily range fee is $485 paid to the Dept of the Navy
- All clubhouse, shotgun and range improvements are paid by the QSC
- We invested over $30,000 to rehabilitate the clubhouse
- Shotgun repairs have consumed almost $20,000 with another $50,000 needed for facilities
- Repairing the International Bunker will cost $100,000
- Investments in steel and props for matches was over $25,.000 and require frequent replacement
Operating a club with more than 1,300 members requires constant attention to day-to-day activities. We rely on short-and long-term volunteers.
