Recently a comment by a club member they pass on Rg 4 as they are not "ready" for 1000 yd shooting. All you need is a solid 100 yd zero, a scope with enough elevation, rifle with barrel length suitable to reach 1000 yds and shoot the right ammo. You have that, and with that 100 yd zero, the RSO's will help set the elevation on your scope and have you on target inside 8 shots at 1000 yds. If you are unsure if your rifle and scope & ammo are suitable for 1000 yds, come by and ask RSO's when we are shooting 1000 yds. We'll gladly advise you and please don't go buy anything till you come by and see what works .
Optics: come look what we use, see reticle image if its suitable to your eyes . Buying wrong on Optics can be a huge expense...come ask us.
Truthfully, the reason you are not on shooting 1000 yds is you have not come by and seen us . We always make sure new people are factored for success. Always.
You can call me to ask questions and gain visibility : 703 987 7520. Do that and come to firing line to see what others use for equipment and talk to RSO's, then you're more than ready to shoot 1000 yds.
The only bad thing about shooting 1000 yards is you get addicted to it. It's tons of fun and you have an amazing sense of accomplishment when you hit that first 1000 yard target. Skip is right. Come to a 1000 yard shoot and ask questions before you spend your hard earned money. Plenty of folks there who are more than happy to help you.
Alright I'll be out there with my .223. Get the milk jug ready.
