The QSC office is staffed by independent contractors, who are paid a daily rate, and scheduled from 7am to 3pm. The office is subject to closing if ranges are closed, or closing early if ranges close or there is no range or match activity (usually on a Sunday), or if weather is a factor resulting in a lack of shooters.
Ranges are opened and run by unpaid volunteers. These RSOs determine range hours, which are published in the club's calendar. RSOs are volunteers, but more importantly, humans who decide if ranges need to remain open. RSOs can close a range for safety, a lack of participation, weather (heat, cold, precipitation), etc. For example, the shotgun range could be scheduled on a Sunday from 9am to 1pm. However, the weather is light rain in the morning with clearing by 11am, but there has only been one shooter for the day, who has departed, and the three volunteer RSOs are sitting and waiting. The RSOs can (and probably will) make a decision to close the range for a lack of activity. While that could be seen as less than customer friendly, there is always a point of diminishing returns when you volunteer to serve the membership. If this creates an issue, consider becoming an RSO so you can help open and run ranges.
