Range will be open from 0800 to 1200. ***If you arrive prior to 0800 and the RED range flag (to the right of the gate) is NOT up, DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE!!*** DO NOT unpack any gear until you've checked in with an RSO. Do not handle firearms until AFTER you and any one in your party has received a safety brief or has been directed by the RSO to do so.
Target set up starts as soon as the RSOs are back from the pits to hang the flag. We will give an initial safety briefing as soon as setup is complete and go hot thereafter. Shooters showing up throughout the day will receive a safety brief from an RSO prior shooting.
The range will go hot and cold as needed at roughly 45/15 intervals (45 hot / 15 cold).
Shooters must bring their own targets, target stands, tools, fasteners, personal protective equipment, and other materials. The QSC only provides a safe range to shoot on.
Targets are limited to paper, wood, plastic, and approved ballistic steel. Ballistic steel targets must be a minimum of 3/8" thick and constructed of AR-500 steel. Soft steel is not allowed.
STEEL TARGETS:
Minimum engagement distances for ballistic steel targets:
Pistol: 10 yards
Shotgun (birdshot): 10 yards
Shotgun (slugs): 55 yards
Rifle caliber 7.62: 110 yards
Rifle caliber .300WM 320 yards
Non-metal pistol targets must be placed and shot in a manner so that all rounds impact the downrange impact berm. Example: no shooting directly into the dirt in front of you as this causes “burrowing” damage to the range.
Shooters should plan accordingly for grass and dirt. Use of a tarp is suggested.
Please present your current QSC membership card to the RSO upon sign in. All guests must check in at the QSC Clubhouse and pay guest fee and sign waivers prior to shooting.
ALL target material, shell casings, and trash must be removed from range after rec fire. There should be no trace of activity left on the range other than lead in the berms. Pack it in. Pack it out.
BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!
