Ironman Range - .PRS Rimfire/MARS Match

Quantico Shooting Club Precision Rifle Series (PRS) Rimfire/Modern American Rimfire Series (MARS) Match.

The match will be made up of 10 stages using various props and distances. This match will be held on Ironman Range, with distances consisting of 50 yards to 500 yards. Your scores will sent to PRS Rimfire and MARS to be uploaded and ranked.
We will follow the 2020-2021 Practical Rifle Series Rimfire And Modern American Rimfire Series rules. Which means 22LR is the only caliber authorized for this match.

Sign in/registration verification begins at 08:00 and closes at 08:45. Shooter safety and match briefing begins at 08:45. Match begins at 09:00 and ends at 15:00

All shooters must register in Practiscore. There are no walk ons.

Match Fee: $25 Members and $30 Non Members
These fees make these events possible and help with growing our match.

You may not get a chance to squad yourself, but if you get the email that says you've been approved then you're good to go. Being squadded is not the same as being registered. Additionally, you may be re-squadded on match day based on division/classification or no-shows to ensure proper balance between squads.

Wait Listing: We enabled the wait list function for this match. You may transition from the wait list to the active list in the days leading up to the match, so keep an eye out for registration confirmation emails. Additionally, we recommend that you only register for the wait list if you a) already have base access privileges or b) can obtain a pass from the VCC prior to the match.

IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING MCBQ ACCESS (https://www.quantico.marines.mil/Base-Access):

* DoD CAC - cleared to access MCBQ

* No DoD CAC but QSC Member - Register yourself on Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) and obtain your access card from the Visitor Control Center (VCC) (https://dbids-global-enroll.dmdc.mil/preenrollui/#!/)

* Not a QSC Member but visit QSC for matches - Ensure that you stop by MCBQ's VCC prior to the match to obtain a temporary access card. This card will grant the holder access for a predetermined period. The VCC is also open on the weekends during matches from 0730-1130. The VCC requires a TRUE ID or TWO OFFICIAL FORMS OF ID. You "could" obtain temporary access privileges on match day. However, we recommend that you acquire your pass prior to match day. The VCC is located in Bldg 27175 Telegraph Rd., Stafford, VA 22554.

Transport firearms in accordance with MCBQ policy (https://quanticoshootingclub.com/transporting-firearms).

The minimum round count for the match is approximately 100 rounds.

Ironman Range - Rec Fire

General Purpose Pistol, Rifle, and Tactical Shotgun Recreational Fire - 10 yds to 680 yds

GENERAL INFORMATION

Range Hours:  0800 – 1400 

***Target set up and Sign In starts at approx. 0800. If you arrive prior to 0800 and the RED range flag (to the right of the gate) is NOT up, DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE!!***

Target set up and Sign-In starts at approx. 0800.  

Safety Briefing at Registration behind the Firing Line at 0845, or as soon as the RSO Team is ready. 

The Range will go Hot ASAP following the Safety Briefing.  Please be on time.

We will try to maintain a cycle of 45/15 minute hot/cold times.  

Shooters showing up throughout the day will first sign in and then receive a safety brief from an RSO prior to carrying gear to the firing line. 

NOTE: If you arrive after 1230, you will not have the opportunity to place your target.

Please present your current QSC membership card upon sign in.  All guests must check in at the QSC Clubhouse and pay the guest fee, sign waivers, and present a guest pass to a range RSO prior to shooting.

At the start of the range day, you MAY bring CASED firearms to the firing line during the target setup time. 

HOWEVER, Do NOT uncase any firearms until AFTER the safety briefing is complete AND RSOs have communicated that the Firing Line is Hot.

Throughout the remainder of the range day, firearms will be brought and removed from the firing line CASED, and only uncased and re-cased AT the firing line and ONLY when the firing line is HOT.  

There will be NO handling of uncased firearms whatsoever while the firing line is COLD.

Drawing from holsters will be permitted at the RSO Team discretion.  Firing line congestion and other risk factors will be considered in making the decision.  RSO decision is not negotiable!

Shooters must bring their own targets, target stands, tools, fasteners, personal protective equipment, and other materials.

Targets are limited to paper, wood, plastic, and approved ballistic steel.

STEEL TARGETS

Ballistic steel targets must be AR500 steel, Min 3/8" thickness, and reactive (20 degree angled, or free swinging, and non-fixed).

Minimum engagement distances for portable ballistic steel targets 

Pistol - 10 yards (No pistol magnum calibers, FN 5.7 or +P ammo on steel)

Pistol (Braced) / PCC / Rimfire Rifle - 25 yards

Shotgun (Buck / Bird Shot) - 11 yards

Shotgun (Slug) - 55 yards

5.56mm / .223 Ball - 110 yards

7.62mm / .308 Ball - 110 yards

.300 Win Mag - 320 yards

(No dueling trees, Texas Stars, or other gimmick-like targets)

(Steel shooters may be segregated to one side of the firing line or other, and with a minimum lateral distance of 6 feet between steel shooters)

Paper Target Note:  Non-metal pistol targets placed closer than 25 yards must be as tall as the shooter.  Targets must not exceed the height of the impact area when viewed from your intended shooting position on the firing line.

CROSS-SHOOTING - STAY IN YOUR LANE

Shooters are responsible for ensuring their target stands are not in the line of sight of other targets and they are not shooting someone else’s target.  That includes USMC PITS.  Know what is up and down range of your target.  The RSOs will check this, and lost range time will result if an issue is discovered. 

The new 680 yard steel targets should only be targeted from Lanes 5 and/or 6.

ALL target material and brass must be removed from range after rec fire. Please pick up your own brass and trash. Brass buckets will be available for casings, NOT trash.  Pack it in. Pack it out.

Your RSOs are volunteers, here for the safety of all club members and guests on the range.  Please follow their commands. 

Our goal is to provide a SAFE, EFFICIENT and FUN range day for members and guests.

Range 3 - Relay Fire

Meet in the WTBn parking at the flag pole NLT 0700. 

The training program will be two relays; one shoots while the other pulls targets.  We will shoot XTC at the 200, 300,and 600 yd. lines.  Then we will shoot ITT at the 600, 500, and 300 yd. lines.  We change shooters and target pullers and repeat. 

This will be our format through July when we depart for Camp Perry.  If we do not have enough shooters interested in shooting ITT then we will only shoot XTC.  We will make that decision that morning.

2022 VA State High Power Regional

Eligibility: OPEN to all eligible participants. You need NOT be a member of the Quantico Shooting Club, NRA or a CMP affiliated club to participate.

Dates of Match: June 17- 19, 2022 (muster time is 0800 at the range ready for squadding) Firing time will be 0900 hot status for all days

Match Fees: Friday 800 XTC: $40 per individual, $20 junior Saturday 500 XTC: $20 per individual, $10 junior Saturday P100 TEAM match: $40 per team Sunday Excellence in Competition match: $30 per individual Sunday Infantry Team match: $60 per team

$90 dollars for 3 days for individual matches only (Juniors will be $60). Registration will open at 0800 paid morning of match located on 200 yard line, aboard the Calvin Lloyd Range Complex, Weapons Training Battalion – Quantico. Range 4

Location and direction to range: 0800 squadding will commence on 200 yard line, Range 4, WTBn-Quantico. No vehicles allowed on range, must park near WTBn flag pole.

Course of Fire:

June 17 – 800 aggregate XTC

June 18 – 500 aggregate XTC & 4 man team match – P100 format

June 19 – Infantry trophy team match & EIC Match

Classification: CMP sanctioned match will use CMP classification.

Firearm: Rifle authorized are defined in the Current Edition of the CMP Competitions Rulebooks: http://thecmp.org/competitions/cmp-competitions-rulebooks/.

Entries: 120 maximum

Rules: In accordance with the current edition of the CMP Competition Rulebook. All Matches will be governed by CMP Rules.

Registration deadline: Registration will be done day of match. Plan to show up 30 mins prior to range hot status time listed above in Match Dates. Email match director in order to get access to MCB-Quantico.
