Becoming an RSO has many benefits. Of course, it helps the club and allows us to open more ranges. More ranges, more fun for everyone. It also has another benefit. Once you complete the USMC RSO training, you become a better custodian of the shooting sports. I know I'm certainly glad I took the time to become an RSO.
If you REALLY don't have the time to become an RSO, then kindly take the time to help the RSOs at the beginning and end of the shoot day. It takes A LOT of effort to open and close a range so members can come and shoot. If you don't believe it, come work with one of us one day. Even though you might not be an RSO, we can find plenty for you to do.
Great post George - 1,000 members and less than 5% are RSOs and only about 2% are active. Too many members think we exist to serve them...
