Hi all -- new member. Appears I missed the last 600/400/200 yard day. Would love to prioritize the next time-- I'm eager to push my carbine out to 600 yards (already zeroed at 100 yards and have shot at 400 on Ironman). Realize it's very much RSO dependent, but just wanted to signal interest.
cheers,
Adam
Adam,
Ironman can accommodate your 200/400/600yd needs. However, you would need to bring sufficient targets to get you to 450yds, then shoot the USMC steel that extends out to 700yds, or walk you targets out each time the range goes cold.
Alternately, you may watch Range 4 to see if they do a Saturday 100/300/600yd day.
Thanks, Carol. I am watching (religiously!) for range 4 days.
separately, I am curious to better understand distance on Ironman. I shot there my first time with the club and was under the understanding that the furthest road is at 450 or 480 yards. Do I understand that there are targets (and I can place targets) even further out in the scrub/unmaintained/unmowed areas? It looked fairly dense, but I'd totally make use of that option.
is there any way to determine distances? I was estimating last time when I shot at Ironman.

Ha, I jumped on Carol's machine and didn't notice she was signed in not me.
Ironman has been cut back and there is USMC steel out to 700yds.
The RSOs may have a range finder that can be used to range the steel.
Thanks. Will look forward to getting back to Ironman or range 4.
Do 300 or 600 or 800 ...we don't have a 400 yd line but do have a 500 yd line if that fits. Be glad to open Range 4 on a Saturday but you see, I need 2 RSO's to help do that and I don't have them. Solution..more of you short to mid range shooters step up and be a RSO so we can do more shooting on Range 4. Seriously if you are a shooter, you can't expect others to sacrifice their Saturdays just for you, its a volunteer club so we all pitch in to make things work. Problem is....few pitch in to help. RSO's get to shoot and shoot a lot if we have more RSO's showing up to run Range 4.
So it boils down to if you are one of those that SHOOT AND SCOOT, don't help club run ranges, then you don't shoot much of what you want to shoot and are your worst enemy. No free lunch , we all need to "give to the club" and not always Take From The Club.
Waiting for some RSO's to help me run Range 4 ..on ANY SATURDAY.
