This is a 100-300 yard day with the opportunity to confirm zero at 100 yards and practice grouping / collect DOPE at 300 yards. Needless to say, this is not a pistol day...
Note: The Range Sign-In sheet WILL BE SECURED from 0745 to 0820. If you intend to shoot prior to 0900, best get to the pits prior to 0715.
Steel Targets may not be engaged from the 100 yard firing line! If you wish to confirm zero at 100 yds, bring paper targets!
Report to Range Safety Officers as soon as you enter the range for other instructions. We may have changes so be flexible and we'll have a great shooting day. KD Target Frames are available to members on the range now. Just come to pits and RSO will issue you a target frame to use. Members may engage clay birds on the back berm, add 35 yds elevation to your scope...
Range Opens: Report to Gate 7 off Willis Road at 0700. Pits closed at 0745. Range Safety Brief will be issued on the 100 yard line at 0750. Upon confirmation that the QSC EMT is present, we will go HOT. Get here Early. SECOND NOTE: The Range Sign-In sheet WILL BE SECURED from 0745 to 0820. If you intend to shoot prior to 0900, best get to the pits prior to 0715.
General Course of Fire Timeline:
0700 - 0745: Target pits and berm open for target set up. Paper only from points 1-24. Steel / Paper set up from firing points 25-50. Biodegradable clay targets are permitted on the backstop berm.
0750 - 0800: Safety Brief
0800 - NLT 0940: Shooting at the 100yd line. Steel Targets may not be engaged from the 100 yard firing line! May go cold ONE TIME to check targets.
0940 1000: check targets, and prep to move back to 300 yard line. SMALL opportunity to set up new targets. Pits close at 0955.
1000 - NLT 1200: Shooting at the 300yd line. Steel Targets may be engaged.
1200: Clear / Safe / Cold - Range shut down for the day!!
Steel & all target frames: Set up time is 0700-0745. GATE 7 WILL CLOSE AT 0745, and stay closed rest of day. Steel Targets set at target points 25-50 only. Please have your steel target frame perfected before coming to range. Steel Targets may not be engaged from the 100 yard line.
Shooters: All Shooters come prepared for quick target set up. Parking as directed by the RSO Team. We do have KD frames for you to attach your paper targets...ask RSO in pits for a frame. YOU MUST Wear ear plugs and ear muffs and have eye protection per USMC base regulations.
Membership cards will be inspected to ensure you are a current club member (liability and safety). Membership cards that have expired can be renewed at club house. Ensure your guests have picked up their guest pass at the clubhouse before coming to the range.
Recommend that you bring sunscreen, tick repellent and water.
Parking: Parking at 100 yds is permitted adjacent to the road behind the 100yd line ground is likely to be soft and marshy so watch where you park. Parking at 300 yds is along the road to the west (left) side of the range behind the 300yd firing line beyond the Porta-Potties.
Canopies: You can set up canopies. Sides NOT ALLOWED, and they must be quick to fold and move off the range... Rule of thumb here, if the RSOs can't see clear down the line with your tent set up, it goes...
We are NOT stopping during the day so you can come late and spend 30 minutes after 0800 setting up targets...not fair to other shooters...Get to the range EARLY!!!
