Range 4 - Preparation for Sunday 1000yd Rifle Rec Fire. 100yd establish zero / 300yd establish group / 600yd establish group
Report to Range safety officers as soon as you enter the range for other instructions. We may have changes so be flexible and we'll have a great shooting day. KD Target Frame are available to members on the range now. Just come to pits and RSO will issue you a target frame to use. Please ensure you have an Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) available. If you don't have one, stop by the clubhouse and buy one for $1.00. Using one aids the RSOs in the identification of firearm status and speeds up the unload and show clear safety process.
Range Opens: Report to Gate 7 off Willis Road at 0715. Gate closes 0745. Range Safety Brief will be issued on the 100 yard line at 0750. Upon confirmation that the QSC EMT is present, we will go HOT. Get here Early.
Course of Fire: This is a 100 / 300 / 600 yard shooting day only.
- Intent is to confirm zero at 100yds and move to 300yds as soon as possible. It is not our intent to spend the entire 1 hour and 45 minutes at the 100 yard firing line.
- Intent at the 300 yard firing line is to confirm grouping on paper or steel. Will spend whatever time is necessary to get shooters grouped at 300 yards. Once grouped we will move to 600 yards.
- Intent at the 600 yard firing line to to practice marksmanship skills until everyone is satisfied with their shot group in preparation for shooting longer ranges.
