Long story short is the range has only been cut once since April. Units have prioritized training and not made the range available for maintenance, which makes rec and match fire difficult.  

A team from QSC spent the Labor Day Holiday (Friday through Monday) cutting the grass and trimming the 40 or so revetments hidden in the berms. The grass was 3' to 5' tall across the complex (over 13 acres) so, it took us a full four days of cutting and weed eating to get the range usable. Along the way we removed piles of range trash buried in the grass that included rocks, concrete blocks, shot up t-posts, pallets, barrels, traffic cones, etc., etc. A couple of paths were also cut past the target line so longer range targets can be placed.
