Range 4 - 600 yards Rifle Rec Fire

This is a 600 yard day with the opportunity to confirm zero at 100 yards and practice grouping / collect DOPE at 300 and 600 yards.

Steel Targets may not be engaged from the 100 yard firing line!  If you wish to confirm zero bring paper targets!

Today's shooting objective is to get to 600yds.  Not to plink steel at 300yds!

Report to Range safety officers as soon as you enter the range for other instructions.  We may have changes so be flexible and we'll have a great shooting day.  KD Target Frame are available to members on the range now.  Just come to pits and RSO will issue you a target frame to use. 

Range Opens: Report to Gate 7 off Willis Road at 0715.  Gate closes 0745.  Range Safety Brief will be issued on the 100 yard line at 0750.  Upon confirmation that the QSC EMT is present, we will go HOT.   Get here Early.

General Course of Fire Timeline:

0715 - 0745:  Target pit open for target set up.  Steel / Paper set up from firing points 25-50.  Paper only from points 1-24.  Biodegradable clay targets are permitted on the backstop berm.

0750 - 0800:  Safety Brief

0800 - NLT 0945:  Confirm Zero at 100yds.  As soon as everyone has a good zero we will move back to the 300yd line.

1000 - NLT 1145:  Grouping at 300yds.  As soon as everyone is on paper and has a decent shot group we will move back to the 600yd line.

1130-1215:  Target pit open for target set up.  Steel / Paper set up from firing points 25-50.  Paper only from points 1-24.

1220 - 1230:  Safety Brief

1230 - 1500:  Recreational Fire at 600yds

1500:  Clear / Safe / Cold

Steel & all target frames: Set up time is 0715-0745. GATE 7 WILL CLOSE AT 0745.  Steel Targets set at target points 25-50 only.  Please have your steel target frame perfected before coming to range.  Steel Targets may not be engaged from the 100yard line.   

Shooters:  All Shooters come prepared for quick target set up.  Parking as directed by the RSO Team.   We do have KD frames for you to attach your paper targets...ask RSO in pits for a frame.  YOU MUST Wear ear plugs and ear muffs and have eye protection per USMC base regulations.

Membership cards will be inspected to ensure you are a current club member (liability and safety). Membership cards that have expired can be renewed at club house.  Ensure your guests have picked up their guest pass at the clubhouse before coming to the range.

Recommend that you bring sunscreen, tick repellent and water.   

Parking:   Parking at 100 yds is permitted  adjacent to the road behind the 100yd line ground is likely to be soft and marshy so watch where you park.   Parking at 300 yds is along the road to the west (left) side of the range behind the 300yd firing line beyond the Porta-Potties.   Parking at 600 yds is along Garand Rd behind the 600 yd firing line.
