Range 4 Rec Fire: 100y & 600y.
Good opportunity to gather data and practice if you plan on shooting at the 1,000y line on Sunday.
Gate 7 will be open at 7:00a for initial target set up and close promptly at 7:30a
Meet at the 100y line at 7:45a for the safety briefing, then once the EMT’s presence is confirmed we’ll got hot.
We’ll allow 1-2hrs for zeroing and shooting at 100y. Plan is to shoot the rest of the day at 600y, but if we’re ahead on the time we can spend 1-2hrs at 200, 300 or 500.
Targets:
Steel is allowed on Range 4 but only from 200y+, steel CAN NOT be shot from the 100y line. 300WinMag, 338Lapua, and .50cal CAN NOT engage steel at less than 300y. And to cut down on fragmentation, please keep steel on points 25-50.
Paper targets can be set up on the berm or you can use a KD frame in the carriers in the pits.
Bio-Degradable Clay pigeons can be placed on the impact berm. (Bio-degradable Clay Targets can be scrounged from the shotgun range skeet fields.)
Parking and Driving:
The grass areas are saturated this time of year.
DO NOT drive or park on the grass when setting up targets on the berm.
For the 100y line park ONLY on the dirt road behind the line, please do not drive up to the line.
For the 600y line park on the dirt road to the left of the 600y line.
Target repair and take-down:
Initial set up is noted above
Take-down is approximately 12:00n and 3:00p
We’ll have periodic ~10min cease fires to check and repair targets.
