Ranges at Quantico Shooting Club
Quantico Shooting Club is located aboard Marine Corps Base, Quantico and use its facilties and legendary ranges. The ranges listed below are available to our membership and are scheduled for use by our Operations Officer. Please review each range's standard operating procedure and review their availability on our range schedule

All Communist Bloc ammunition is restricted from use until the Marine Corps can complete dispersal area testing and determine the allowable safe usage of that ammo. The calibers include, but are not limited to:
  • 5.45x39mm
  • 7.62x25mm
  • 7.62x39mm
  • 7.62x54mm
  • 7.62x54R
  • 9x18mm

Archery (50 yards) Archery (50 yards)
The Archery range is located on the far end of the shotgun range with target positions located at 10-yard increments. The Club has a small number of targets but members may bring their own targets. The firing position is open and includes an elevated stand. Archers must contact the Range Safety Officer if the shotgun range is being used before posting targets.

The Archery range is used for recreational fire and training and is available through the QSC Operations Officer. There is no charge for members during recreational fire.

  • Range 1 (300 yards) General Purpose (Range 1, 7 - 300 yards)
    Range 1 is a 300-yard multipurpose range with target positions located at 100-yard increments. Rifle (.308 & below) and Pistol (9 mm NATO & below) ammunition is the maximum authorized on this range. .30-06 exceeds the allowable dispersal area and may not be used on Range 1. Muzzleloaders .75 caliber and below may be used. The firing positions are covered and double hearing protection is required. Members must bring their own targets and stands.

    Range 1 is used is used for recreational fire and is available through the QSC Operations Officer. Range Safety Officers must request this range 30-days prior to the event. There is no charge for members but guests must pay a range fee ($10 for adults and $6 for under 18).

  • Competition Pistol Range Pistol (Competition Pistol)
    The Competition pistol range is a 25-yard pistol range. Up to .45 caliber pistol ammunition may be used on this range. Members must bring their own targets and stands.

    The Competition Pistol range is used for recreational fire and competitions and is available through the QSC Operations Officer. Range Safety Officers must request this range 30-days prior to the event. There is no charge for members during recreational fire but guests must pay a range fee ($10 for adults and $6 for guests under 18).

  • ReQual Pistol Range Pistol (ReQual Pistol)
    The ReQual pistol range is a 25-yard pistol range. Up to .45 caliber pistol ammunition may be used on this range. Members must bring their own targets and stands.

    The ReQual Pistol range is used for recreational fire and competitions and is available through the QSC Operations Officer. Range Safety Officers must request this range 30-days prior to the event. There is no charge for members during recreational fire but guests must pay a range fee ($10 for adults and $6 for guests under 18).

  • Range 4 (1000 yards) Rifle (Range 4 - 1000 yards)
    This range is available approximately once per month.

    Range 4 is a 1000-yard rifle range with target positions located at 100-yard increments. Up to .50 caliber ammunition and below is authorized on this range. Muzzleloaders .75 caliber and below may be used. Members must bring their own targets. The firing positions are open and target carriages are available in the pits for shooters shooting the full 1000 yards. Members shooting less than 1000 yards must bring their own targets and stands.

    Range 4 is used for recreational fire and competitions and is available through the QSC Operations Officer. Range Safety Officers must request this range 30-days prior to the event. There is no charge for members during recreational fire but guests must pay a range fee ($10 for adults and $6 for guests under 18).

  • International Trap Range Shotgun (International Trap)
    The Shotgun Range includes one International Trap field for international single and double-trap events. Up to 7.5 shot ammunition may be used on this range – no buckshot or slugs. The Club provides clay targets for members at $3.00 a round (25 targets) and for guests at $5.00 a round. Members or guests may not use their own targets.

    The International Trap field is used for recreational fire and competitions and is available through the QSC Operations Officer. Range Safety Officers must request the shotgun range 30-days prior to any event.

  • American Skeet and Trap Range Shotgun (Skeet & Wobble Trap)
    The Shotgun Range includes one International Skeet field, three American Skeet fields and one Wobble Trap field. Up to 7.5 shot ammunition may be used on this range – no buckshot or slugs. The Club provides clay targets for members at $3.00 a round (25 targets) and for guests at $5.00 a round. Members or guests may not use their own targets. A patterning board is available on the far end of the range adjacent to the International Skeet field.

    The Skeet and Wobble Trap fields are used for recreational fire and competitions and are available through the QSC Operations Officer. Range Safety Officers must request the shotgun range 30-days prior to any event.
