| New Temporary Telephone Number |
|
| As you may know QSC has been experiencing some problems with phone outages. While we have been working with the Base and Verizon to get this problem solved for good, it is not prudent for us to be without a phone. So as a temporary fix we have put in a cell phone. The new number for the Clubhouse is 703-463-8214. At this point this is only a temporary change, but could last for up to one year. We will keep you informed of any changes to this. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. |

| Seeking Black Powder Shooters! |
|
I was appointed by President Williamson late last year to form a Black Powder Committee. The aim of this committee is to raise awareness of the satisfaction derived by learning to shoot primitive weapons and to organize matches if interest is sufficient.
Gene Szymanski has taken the time to produce a set of safety rules that specifically address the unique safety issues of black powder shooters and I am grateful for his efforts. He and I both are Range Safety Officers (RSO) and it would be a great service to the QSC if more black powder shooters were to get qualified and serve as RSO's.
The rules of marksmanship are the same for all time periods, but the mechanics of shooting a primitive weapon goes far beyond just pulling a trigger. Regardless if you're new to black powder or an old hand at it, please contact me and help us get black powder shooting on the map at QSC!

| QSC Range Cancellation b> |
|
Due to the recent winter storms all ranges in use by QSC, on board MCB Quantico, will be closed until the BOD and the Range Committee Chairmen determine that they are safe for our members to use once again. There are concerns that certain snow areas will turn into icy patches. Most likely the first ranges that will be cleared for use will be the International Trap Bunker and Range 1.
We will wait to hear from Range Control that the Ranges are available for use. Once that notice comes the Board and Range Committee will go over the range areas making sure that there are no areas of concern. At that point we will start scheduling Rec Fire and Matches again.
We hope all of you are safe and warm. Please take care during this weather. We look forward to seeing you on the range! |

| Ammunition Restrictions |
|
All Communist Bloc ammunition is restricted from use until the Marine Corps can complete dispersal area testing and determine the allowable safe usage of that ammo. The calibers include, but are not limited to:
5.45x39mm
7.62x25mm
7.62x39mm
7.62x54mm
7.62x54R
9x18mm
.30-06 exceeds the allowable dispersal area and may not be used on Range 1. 7.62mm Special Ball/.308 Win ammunition is the maximum authorized on Range 1. Range 4 is the only range where .30-06 and above are allowed to be used at this time. |
